Meher Baba Melbourne Information
Meher Baba came to Melbourne during his first visit to Australia in 1956. Melbourne had been the location of the initial upswell of people interested in Meher Baba starting in the early 40's starting with a group of Sufi devotees who were followers of Hazrat Inayat Khan and who then became aware of Meher Baba. Out of this group some also went on to Sydney and it was mainly in these two cities where the initial core following emerged. In the 60s and 70s an upsurge of new people occurred throughout Australia, and Melbourne was once again at the center of much of this activity.
These days our local group meets at various homes usually once a month, we can update with details.
